Do i need AP US history for a military academy?

Since i play a lot of sports and high school soccer is so time consuming, i was considering dropping out of AP US. with ap world civ i took my sophomore year, that was enough. and i heard that this class is even more. I really dont wanna push my work load over the top becuase i will already be in all advanced classes as it is. my college planner said i need to take it if i wanna get into west point or merchant marine, but idk bout that
